A Palm Beach couple sold their home in the Mar-a-Lago Security Zone for $17 million, marking the latest sale in the area since Donald Trump returned to office.

Records show David Weisman and Jacqueline Michel sold the house at 142 Via Palma to a trust named for the address and managed by attorney Lawrence S. Chane. Margit Brandt with Premier Estate Properties had the listing, and Darlene Streit with the Corcoran Group brought the buyer.

Weisman is co-founder and co-managing member of Infra Holdings, an Alexandria, Virginia-based tech infrastructure firm that builds and manages wireless towers. His wife, Michel, is an attorney.

They bought the Via Palma house for $5.4 million in 2016, according to property records. Built on 0.4 acres in 1955, the 4,900-square-foot home has five bedrooms, six bathrooms, one half-bathroom and a pool, records show.

They listed it for $24 million in December 2023, according to Zillow. They dropped the price twice before selling for $17 million this month.

The sale is the latest in a string of deals in the Mar-a-Lago Security Zone, an area adjacent to the president’s private club and residence that the Secret Service secures and restricts access to when he travels to Palm Beach. Since the election, eight deals totalling $135.3 million have closed in the Security Zone.

With the island’s busy season winding down, sales are closing before seasonal residents fly north to their summer homes. Earlier this month, media mogul Cathie Black and her husband, Thomas Harvey, sold their island house for $18 million and bought another for $12 million. Also this month, Lisa Hedley, the stepsister of former Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin, sold a waterfront house for $23.8 million. Marc Glimcher, president and CEO of Pace Gallery, sold his lakefront home for $19.2 million to Jamie McCourt, the former Dodgers CEO and Trump’s first ambassador to France and Monaco.
